Supplies/Suggestions
Woodwinds: (Brass and Percussion please scroll down)
Woodwind Players are expected to have their own supply of reeds (3 at least) at all times. Students with school instruments will receive ONE reed in the beginning of the year. Being unprepared will result in a zero for the day.
All Woodwind and Brass players are highly encouraged to use their own mouthpiece
Woodwinds: Using the highest quality reed you can afford. Rico Blue Box or Vandoren are the best for student-musicians. Vandoren's are stronger than Rico's so please adjust. Incoming ninth graders should not make big jumps until their embouchures are used to playing everyday.
Brass Player Suggestions: Brass Players are expected to have valve or slide oil with them at all times.
All students should use their own mouthpiece.

Good Valve/Rotary Oil: Forget the scented stuff- Al Cass oil is simply the best.
Slide-O-Mix is the best for trombone slides "Instant Comfort" (Black tip) of their series is the easiest to work with.
Mutes: Provided. Please see Mr. A if you'd like recommendations for what to purchase for yourself if you'd like.
Percussionists: Stick bag with Snare drum sticks, one mallet pair, one cymbal pair, and one timpani general mallet set is highly recommended. Label with your name.
